Good morning! Fresh outta bed? Been sitting all day? This class will get all parts of the body gently moving and wake up your lower body quicker than a quad-shot mocha.
Capricorn is a 16 count combination in our Metamorphosis slow vocabulary. It gives a nod to famous belly dance Capricorns, Zoe Jakes and Carolena Nerriccio-Bohlman.
Chest lifts and drops are great on their own for accenting music or making fun combinations. They are also the foundation for learning more challenging chest and ribcage movements.
Serpent is a 24 count slow combination featuring lots of funky hipwork and quick turns. Isolations include pelvic mayas, elbow lifts, hip drops, and more!
This slow, 24-count Expansion combo is cued out of the Bodywave and features some of Violet's favorite isolations. The shapes in this combination are fun to watch and there are really great moments where the combination and music make magic!
Introducing: The Fly Bodywave! This is the one-and-only slow Metamorphosis stall movement and we find it equal parts beautiful and powerful. We hope you do, too!
Aquarius is a 16-count combination in Expansion's Slow Vocabulary. Much like an Aquarian, this combo is sassy, complex, and seriously good-looking. ;) Please warm up prior to beginning!
Let’s get funky with this 32-count Fast Combo! Give yourself some time with this one because there are lots of sassy layers and details to catch.
This Fast 16-count Combination is cued out of the Fly Shimmy and involves fun footwork with gooey arms and isolations. We will break it down layer by layer, then put it all together and drill.
In this short introductory class, Violet covers one slow Foundation stall movement and one slow Foundation combination. She also describes what they are and how to use them.
In this 25 minute class, Violet does drills, introduces more combinations and concepts, discusses how to do some of our classic Fly formations and finally, gives you a chance to take the lead in a dance-along.
Fasten your seat belt, we're moving right along! In class 3, we're finishing all of the Foundation Slow Vocabulary! We suggest watching these videos as many times as you need to while you're building your strong foundation! Included: Drills, new material, formation discussion, and your chance to take the lead!
In this class Violet introduces the first of the fast vocabulary. Learn the Fly Fusion Shimmy and Halcyon Cha-Cha, review slow vocabulary from Class 3, and do some drilling along the way. Please be sure to warm up prior to beginning.
In this video we will start by drilling what we have covered in the previous Foundation Series classes. We will then learn another fast stall movement - The Fly Arabic! We will finish with a drill of the material covered in class 5. Let's dance!
Foundation, Slow | The Silk Maya was the first stall movement of the Fly Fusion® vocabulary and is often the first one taught at Fly classes and workshops. Be patient with yourself as you learn the upper and lower body layers.
